El Centro Colege will offer a series of online continuing education courses in medical staff services beginning in June, 2009.

The first of these courses, Basics of Credentialing, will be a three-week course which begins June 8, 2009.  Tuition will be $99.00.  To register and pay by credit card, call the Continuing Education Division at 214-860-2260 or 214-860-2696 and ask for course number MSST 2000.54101.  Credit for 10 CEU’s is being requested from NAMSS for this first course of the series. The textbook,The Medical Staff Services Handbook: Fundamentals and Beyond, by Gassiot, Searcy and Giles, will be used for the course and is available online from Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.  Please note that it takes two weeks to receive the textbook if ordered online.

Edge-U-Cate's Credentialing School offers The Basics – a training course for the basic components of hospital credentialing and privileging, and Beyond the Basics for experienced credentialers.

The Basics is designed for those individuals with little to no previous training or experience (or who have been functioning with minimal training).  This course is offered approximately every 90 days, so no matter when an entry-level credentialer is hired, there is “just-in-time” training available through Edge-U-Cate..
